Pumped!
Monday, April 5, 2010
Hi everyoneeeee!
I'm feeling all pumped up and goood now after a great workout, plus a refreshing home-blended banana smoothie that I've got a sudden urge to come blog. Woohoo!
Firstly, really sorry for the hiatus. (Procrastination is seriously a deadly disease!) Once again, I've got million things to share with all of you but when i think of all the editing and uploading and fixing and aligning, the blogging mood had already slowly crept away. But Youtube had to be the main cause of it too. Hawhaw! This Korean variety show, We Got Married is so entertaining & hilarious. This show will arrange 2 celebrities to spend a pretend married life together & you'll get to see how they slowly break the awkwardness between each other, understand each other and gradually genuinely care and look out for each other. Hyunjoong & Hwangbo must have been the best pair that I've ever seen although she was 6 years older. They were soo cute! :D Does anybody watched it before? I got Em hooked on this too. Hawhawhaw :D
After officially graduating, I've been bumming around. Okay but that doesn't mean I was wasting time away. I've been having alot of "Me" time ever since & although once in awhile I'll still feel the sudden burst of urgent need to find a proper job but I'm loving life now (: Doing things that I've missed out so much during my internship days. Hanging out more with the YA (Young adults) and Y-zone dears, involving more in the worship ministry, back to more regular workouts (love it!), cooking more on my own, trying out new recipes (I'm still trying to get use to my own oven!) & on & on & on. (:
Just to share some of my own creation.
1. Strawberry Yogurt-in-a-Glass
In the glass:
strawberries, chopped
home-made yogurt (or any kind of yogurt)
1. Cut the strawberries into mini pieces & put a few spoonfuls of it to fill the bottom of the glass.
2. Use the back of the teaspoon, try to pack the strawberry bits together as much as possible.
3. Spoon in the yogurt to make another layer.
4. Repeat Step 1 & 3 again, until the glass is filled.
5. Place the glass in the freezer.
6. When about to serve, let parfait thaw a little & you may add any kinds of toppings (I added my fav granola :D)
A little tedious but if you're sick of eating your cup of yogurt in the old boring way, you can try this yogurt in a glass! You can add in different fruits for each layer, up to you! (: Enjoy!
2. Banana Oatmeal Raisin Cookies
I made another batch yesterday, but the top ended up burnt while the in & underside of the cookies were moist and sweet. The other batches all came out okay previously so I didn't know what went wrong. & initially I thought it could be because I sub out the oil for applesauce. But when Mummy was trying out the oven to grill the fish did i realise I didn't change the settings and bake the cookies under the "Grilling" settings -.- Dumb or what.
Oh wells, but these cookies are gooood. No sugar added at all, no oils, no salt, no nothing but REAL ingredients (:

3. Tortilla Wrap
These wraps have already become one of my staple meals. When I couldn't think of anything else to whip up for lunch or dinner, I'll just grab a piece of tortilla, dig for any food to fill it up, toast it up on a pan & done! They're so easy to make & seriously goood. It's like popiah but for me, better than popiah. Haha. I'll usually fill it with salmon (love!)/canned tuna/sauteed mushrooms, together with lettuce/steamed broccoli/cauliflower/onions/red bell peppers & top it off with 1/2 slice of cheese. I like mine hot & spicy so I'll smear the base with my grandma's home-made garlic chilli sauce most of the time or I'll just sprinkle with black pepper. Mmmmm crispy goood! I just had the exact same one in the pics below just now (:
Fill fill fill! Broccoli is the loveeee!
Toast toast toast!
Dig into the crisp!
Hahah! Hope I didn't just get you all hungry with all these food pictures. See what I mean by I've been messing around alot in the kitche. I've been trying to whip up more healthy and wholesome food & with all the ideas from other food bloggers, there's just so many to try on.
Oh man, I'm starting work tmrw to help pack at Ripples' warehouse. And the only thing i hate bout working is eating out during lunch. I've been trying to avoid eatouts ever since I know the goodness of homemade meals. Oh wells (: At least I'm finally working!
Oh yaaa. My church just held our Easter service yesterday in the GV theatres at Bishan! Coolnesss. When we came real early, the entire place was all to ourselves & there was sign at the GV entrance saying,"There is a private function going on, & the theatres will only be open to the public at 11am. Thank you." :D HAHA.
I'll update more next time!
With many blessings,
Ther.
